We are seeking a skilled Certified Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center. As a key member of our respiratory therapy department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain established department policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
- Set up and operate respiratory equipment, administer medications, and chart treatment responses and progress.
- Monitor ventilator settings and perform arterial puncture and blood analysis as needed.
- Observe patients, check equipment, and make necessary adjustments during patient rounds.
- Document patient vital signs and equipment settings as required.
- Provide instructions and education to patients, families, and staff on therapeutic procedures.
- Ensure delivery of quality respiratory therapy services and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Conduct special procedures, including pulmonary function studies and bronchoscopy, as needed.
- Maintain proper cleaning and sterilization of respiratory therapy equipment.
- 2 years of experience in critical care required.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Texas Medical Board - Respiratory Care Practitioner certification.
- NBRC certification CRT.
- Ability to work 2 day shifts per 4-week rotation and 1 major/1 minor holiday per year.
