Heavy Civil Superintendent Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to join our team at Turner Mining Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of heavy civil construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize work to maximize crew productivity, establishing work plans and staffing plans for each phase of the project.
  • Supervise field managers, mentoring and coaching them in leading their crews, and maximizing equipment utilization levels.
  • Review job costs with project managers and field managers, implementing adjustments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with the Safety Program, including preplanning, proper safety equipment, and accident investigation and reporting.
  • Coordinate with field managers, other superintendents, and customers to implement successful project plans, maintaining professional relationships with the owner, engineer, and other members of the construction team.
  • Inspect construction work to ensure quality requirements and standards are met.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (equivalent work experience will be considered).
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (continuing education in construction highly desirable).
  • Minimum 6 years of heavy civil construction experience with at least 2 years of superintendent experience required.
  • Experience in multiple trade disciplines preferred.
  • OSHA 30 hour certification required (those not having this credential must certify or be enrolled in a certification course within 6 months of hire/promotion).
  • Valid driver's license required.
