Job Overview

CO-OP Restaurant and Lounge is on the lookout for a dedicated Culinary Team Member who is passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality and top-notch service to our patrons. The ideal candidate possesses a strong curiosity and a desire to enhance their understanding of classic cooking techniques within a guest-focused service atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the highest level of hospitality and customer service that our guests expect.
  • Collaborate with Restaurant Management to prepare menu items according to recipes and guidelines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of your designated area, ensuring thorough cleaning of the workspace and adjacent areas.
  • Uphold food quality standards set by the Chef; guarantee consistency in product quality.
  • Communicate menu details to Front of House staff, address allergy concerns, and respond to general inquiries. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu offerings and beverage selections.
  • Act as a supportive team member, assisting colleagues as needed to ensure a smooth guest experience.
  • Ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.

Essential Qualifications

  • A strong eagerness to learn and the ability to maintain a polite demeanor.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a fine dining or upscale casual setting.
  • Thorough understanding of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of a second language is a plus.
  • Strong organizational abilities, including follow-up, time management, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all hotel departments.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Study Hotels maintains a drug-free workplace. A pre-employment drug test and background check are mandatory.
