Behavioral Therapist

Job Summary:
Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a skilled Behavioral Therapist to join our team. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will work one-on-one with children aged 3-5, implementing individualized instructional and behavioral strategies to support their development and progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Implementation of Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs)
- Implement evidence-based interventions such as Discrete Trial Training (DTT), Natural Environment Training (NET), and Pivotal Response Treatment (PRT) to support the development of communication, social, and adaptive skills.
- Collect real-time data on target behaviors and skill acquisition using digital tools and software.
- Behavior and Skill Development
- Support the development of communication, social, and adaptive skills through structured and naturalistic teaching methods.
- Use techniques like Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices to enhance communication skills through a verbal behavior model.
- Data Collection and Progress Monitoring
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing detailed and accurate documentation for review by the BCBA and interdisciplinary team.
- Positive Behavior Support
- Implement proactive strategies to promote desirable behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
- At least 1 year experience working with children with developmental and behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of ABA principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
- Experience with data collection tools and software.
- Familiarity with Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
