About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Unit Coordinator to join our team at RUSH Specialty Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation. As a Medical Unit Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient care units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support to the patient care units, including transcription of orders, filing of reports, and arranging transportation for tests.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and deliver information to staff and patients.
  • Maintain close communication with the Charge Nurse/House Supervisor to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
  • Handle paperwork and administrative tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Order supplies as needed from Materials Management.
  • Verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
  • Transcribe and flag orders from charts accurately.
  • Arrange transportation for patients to undergo tests not offered in the hospital.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with medical files and terminology.
