Position Title: Social Worker I

Location: Elliot Park/hybrid

The mission of our organization is to address the needs of vulnerable populations and respond to the growing complexities of social issues. We focus on three primary areas: preventing poverty, addressing immediate needs during crises, and facilitating pathways out of poverty.

COMPENSATION: $53,000 - $62,000 annually

ROLE SUMMARY: We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and compassionate individual to fill the role of Social Worker I. This position requires a trauma-informed and culturally competent approach to working with diverse populations.

The successful candidate will provide case management services, short-term counseling, and assist clients in accessing necessary support services. Responsibilities include helping clients establish personal and family goals, as well as providing ongoing aftercare.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct intake assessments and comprehensive case management, including:
    1. Client interviews and evaluations
    2. Goal-setting strategies
    3. Information and referral services
    4. Individualized case management plans
  2. Deliver assessment services and short-term counseling, along with skill-building techniques and aftercare for individuals, couples, and families.
  3. Provide services at various outreach locations and conduct support/education groups as necessary.
  4. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data and reporting for accountability and client outcomes.
  5. Offer behavioral management support and collaborate with collateral sources to address client needs.
  6. Make appropriate referrals and provide comprehensive decision-making counseling to meet client needs.
  7. Develop collaborative relationships with community organizations, including schools and other professionals, to support clients effectively.
  8. Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Mental Health Practitioner licensure approved by the State of Minnesota (e.g., LSW, LGSW) is required.
  • Preferred: One (1) year of broad-based clinical experience.
  • Experience in individual, family, and group counseling is preferred.
  • Ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those facing homelessness, unstable housing, or mental health challenges.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is required.

EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Regular; Full-Time; Salary; Exempt

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Driving is required.
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs without assistance is required.
  • Physical restraint of clients is not required.
