Primary Care Physician

La Clínica del Pueblo is seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician to join our team. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our patients, including routine health examinations, preventive screenings, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Responsibilities:- Provide primary medical care for a dedicated panel of patients, including diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness according to evidence-based standards.
- Obtain clinical histories, conduct appropriate physical examinations and assessments, order diagnostic testing and formulate treatment plans.
- Conduct routine health examinations and evaluations and make recommendations for preventive health maintenance and screening tests as appropriate.
- Document appropriate clinical information in the electronic health record in a timely manner, completing documentation and billing for clinical encounters within 48 hours.
- Review documents including outside records and consultant reports and summarize information in the medical record.
- Determine need for additional services including but not limited to nursing, social services, health education, and referral for specialty care.
- Participate in regular multidisciplinary clinical team meetings and assist in the coordination of care in a team-based setting.
- Order and be responsible for the dispensing and administration of certain medications on-site.
- Deliver emergency care during clinic hours and be available to La Clínica del Pueblo patients for urgent clinical advice after hours, on a rotating basis.
- Refer patients to hospitals for emergency care and admission when needed and communicate with hospital staff as appropriate.
- MD or DO from an accredited Medical or Osteopathic School.
- Board Certification with American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Pediatrics or American Board of Family Medicine unless exempted in accordance with La Clínica Del Pueblo policy.
- Current licensure to practice medicine in the District of Columbia and/or Maryland.
- Women's health/family planning experience is preferred.
- Prenatal care experience preferred or willingness to learn prenatal is highly desirable.
- Bilingual, Spanish-English.
- Must be willing to accept 'on call' duties on a regular rotation.
- Must have a current DEA number.
- HIV experience preferred or willingness to learn HIV is welcomed.
- Experience working with LGBTQ populations.
- Two years prior work in a Latino community.
- MS office or equivalent computer experience; experience with use of electronic health records.
