Job Title: Data Analyst II

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst II to join our team at the State of New Mexico. As a Data Analyst II, you will play a critical role in supporting the Medical Assistance Division (MAD) data needs, including state and federal reporting, performance measures, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain internal and external ad hoc requests
  • Design and develop dashboards and systems for reporting data
  • Use data visualization tools to share data in an easy-to-comprehend fashion
  • Train other staff on how to develop and present data reports
Requirements:
  • Experience in data analysis and scripting/coding using one or more of the following: SQL, PowerBI, Snowflake, Sybase, etc.
  • Multiple coding language experience is preferred
  • Experience transforming datasets from multiple sources to fit prescribed file layouts
  • Proficient and comprehensive knowledge to collect, clean, maintain and analyze data from large and complex data sets and prepare data driven reports specific to divisional and agency needs
  • Ability to shift tasks quickly in order to fulfill changing priorities
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related field with five (5) years of experience directly related to position at time of posting
  • Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling nine (9) years may substitute for the required education and experience
Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage.

This is a bargaining unit position and is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
