About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at simplehuman. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for leading the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for plastic injection molding and sheet metal components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for plastic injection molding and sheet metal components to ensure efficient, repeatable, and high-quality production.
  • Collaborate with design teams and tooling vendors to design, validate, and maintain molds, dies, and fixtures.
  • Provide hands-on support and technical expertise to the production team, addressing issues related to tooling, materials, and process parameters.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to establish and maintain robust inspection and testing procedures.
  • Analyze and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or performance.
  • Partner with R&D, Product Design, and Supply Chain teams to ensure manufacturability of new designs, providing input during the design phase to optimize for manufacturing efficiency and cost.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong emphasis on plastic injection molding and sheet metal fabrication for consumer products, and DFM.
  • Fluency in Taiwanese language and culture.
  • In-depth knowledge of plastic injection molding and sheet metal processes, including tool design, material selection, and process optimization.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, etc).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
