About the Role
This position is part of the Emory Office of Information Technology (OIT) Research Solutions group, which focuses on delivering cutting-edge cloud solutions to support research and academic endeavors.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technical teams and Emory faculty to design and implement cloud-based solutions that advance research and knowledge discovery.
- Work with customers to understand their needs and translate requirements into effective application designs and technical delivery strategies.
- Develop and implement cloud solutions that meet University regulations and leverage Emory technology solutions.
- Provide training, implementation support, and technical troubleshooting services to customers.
- Contribute to the documentation of use cases and the development of reusable patterns and guidelines.
- Participate in interdisciplinary working groups and collaborate with Enterprise and solutions architecture teams to implement reusable frameworks.
- Ensure quality outcomes through best practices in software implementation, including peer reviews, coding, design sessions, and thorough testing and validation.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, math, engineering, or a related field, and five years of related experience, including experience in customer-facing technical roles, architecting and implementing solutions in cloud infrastructure, professional software development, and experience as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, such as Amazon Web Services, and experience with specialized computing, like GPU, parallelization, and DevOps aspects, such as containers and automation.
- Experience working within an academic, research, or scientific institution and familiarity with scientific data, bioinformatics packages, big data analysis methods, or machine learning algorithms.
