Special Education Paraprofessional at Potential Inc.


KEY FEATURES OF THE ROLE

Role: Paraprofessional

Location: Private educational institution

Part-Time Schedule: 8:30 am - 3 pm (Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday)

Full-Time Schedule: 8:30 am - 3 pm (Monday - Friday)

Compensation for Part-Time: $17 - $20 hourly (additional compensation for experienced candidates)

Compensation for Full-Time: $30,000 annual salary (additional compensation for experienced candidates)


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Paraprofessional at Potential Inc., you will collaborate closely with special education instructors. Your primary responsibility will be to assist students on an individual basis, addressing their unique needs in communication, behavior, daily living activities, vocational skills, community instruction, social interactions, and academic support as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). The students you will support may have faced challenges in other educational settings, exhibit difficult behaviors, or possess additional medical conditions affecting their learning. Your contributions will significantly enhance their quality of life.

This role is ideal for individuals aspiring to careers in education, occupational therapy, speech therapy, childcare, healthcare, or psychology, particularly those who thrive in personalized learning environments where they can witness the impact of their efforts daily.


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE GAINED

Upon completion of training, you will be equipped to:

  • Work effectively with children with diverse needs.
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy strategies according to individualized treatment plans.
  • Receive and apply feedback from special education teachers and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) in subsequent sessions.
  • Ensure client safety and confidentiality.
  • Accurately document client interactions by collecting data, writing session notes, and completing service logs.
