Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimal travel requirement (0-25%).
  • Gather patient medical history and vital signs
  • Conduct basic tests or screenings including vision, audio, urine drug tests, breath alcohol tests, EKGs, and pulmonary function tests
  • Perform phlebotomy for laboratory sample collection
  • Accurately complete related paperwork and computer entries for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples
  • Execute point-of-care testing such as strep, mono, glucose, influenza, urine pregnancy tests, and urinalysis
  • Ensure adherence to sterile techniques, instrument cleaning, and sterilization, including proper autoclave usage
  • Schedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary patient care
  • Assist healthcare providers with examinations and testing (including pelvic exams, eye and ear irrigations, incision and drainage procedures, and splinting/orthopedic preparation)
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ensure all equipment is functional
  • Log laboratory procedures upon completion and process related paperwork using designated computer systems
  • Maintain examination rooms and ensure necessary medical supplies are stocked
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow
  • Registration duties: explain accepted insurances and out-of-network options, as well as pricing; accurately collect and record payments, and complete registration processes promptly
  • Accompany healthcare providers to patient bedsides
  • Thoroughly document patient medical histories, physical examinations, and procedures
  • Complete transcription tasks as requested
  • Perform tasks to enhance provider efficiency during shifts
  • Greet and register patients
  • Answer and appropriately triage incoming phone calls
  • Process payments for visits
  • Handle printing, scanning, and faxing of reports
  • Perform other front desk and cleaning tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to identify and resolve equipment issues or notify the team leader
  • Capability to follow written instructions and standardized procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Must be able to meet physical and mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, and bending; ability to move equipment and assist patients
  • Proficient computer skills, including timely patient registration
  • Up-to-date on vaccinations and able to provide documentation as per OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification
  • Excellent listening and note-taking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in grammar, spelling, and verbal interactions
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Friendly demeanor with a focus on customer service
  • Capacity to manage high call volumes
  • Physical capability to sit, stand, walk, use hands for various tasks, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Close attention to detail required for planning and executing complex work methods.
