Key Responsibilities:

  • 0-25% travel may be required.
  • Gather patient history and obtain vital signs
  • Conduct basic tests or screenings, including vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, and pulmonary function tests
  • Perform phlebotomy for laboratory sample collection
  • Complete necessary paperwork and computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples
  • Conduct point-of-care testing such as strep, mono, glucose, influenza, urine pregnancy, urinalysis, and blood glucose levels
  • Ensure sterile techniques, instrument cleaning, and sterilization, including proper autoclave use
  • Schedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary patient care
  • Assist providers with examinations and testing (including pelvic exams, eye and ear irrigations, I&Ds, and splinting/ortho-glass preparation)
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information (HIPAA compliance)
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly
  • Log laboratory procedures upon completion and process related paperwork using computer systems as directed
  • Maintain examination rooms and stock necessary medical supplies
  • Perform duties to facilitate efficient patient flow
  • Registration duties: explain accepted insurances and pricing to patients, accurately collect and record payments, and complete registration screens promptly
  • Accompany the provider to the bedside
  • Thoroughly document patient medical history, physical exams, and procedures
  • Complete transcription as needed
  • Perform tasks to enhance provider efficiency during shifts
  • Greet and register patients
  • Answer and appropriately triage phone calls
  • Process payments for visits
  • Print, scan, and fax reports
  • Other front desk and cleaning responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to identify equipment issues and notify the team leader
  • Capability to follow written instructions and standardized work practices
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Physical and mental stamina: standing, walking, stooping, and bending; ability to move equipment and assist patients
  • Computer proficiency, including timely patient registration
  • Up-to-date on vaccinations, with documentation as per OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to maintain CPR certification
  • Excellent listening and note-taking abilities
  • Strong communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and verbal proficiency
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Team-oriented with a friendly, customer service focus
  • Ability to manage high call volumes
  • Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Close attention to detail required for planning or directing complex work methods or operations.
