Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager/Senior Estimator to join our team at HSU Builders, a leading general contractor with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

As a Construction Project Manager/Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating construction projects, preparing detailed reports, and working closely with our operations team to ensure seamless project execution.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction estimation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Estimating construction projects, including providing new bid setup, issuance of bid documents, tracking subcontractor responses, and keeping subcontractor database up-to-date;
  2. Preparing detailed reports for submission to appropriate parties, including project scope, timelines, and budgets;
  3. Selecting advantageous deals by evaluating offers and quotes from subcontractors and vendors;
  4. Analyzing data and producing forecasts to inform project decisions and mitigate risks;
  5. Working with our operations team to ensure a complete understanding of project scope and requirements;
  6. Reviewing specifications and drawings to determine project scope and required contents of various budgets, pre-con proposals, and hard bids;
  7. Ensuring sufficient subcontractor coverage for each project;
  8. Maintaining and tracking bid results for proposed projects;
  9. Fostering relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects, etc.);
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field;
  2. A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the construction industry, with a focus on estimation and project management;
  3. Excellent communication and analytical skills;
  4. Strong computer skills and proficiency in construction software;
  5. Able to generate take-offs and understand bid job instructions and detailed specifications;
