Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Psychiatric Technician provides basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients in a correctional health care setting. The ideal candidate will have a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician in California and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients
- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients
- Support the care team for daily health care operations
- Communicate effectively with patients and other members of the health care team
- Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced correctional health care environment and to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
