Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility in Corcoran, California. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a critical role in providing direction to Psychiatric Technicians, maintaining the safety of persons and property, supervising the conduct of inmates, and participating in the overall psychiatric treatment program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction to Psychiatric Technicians and other personnel who provide general psychiatric nursing care to inmates.
  • Maintain the safety of persons and property, and supervise the conduct of inmates.
  • Participate in the overall psychiatric treatment program, including providing direction to other personnel and participating in treatment planning.
  • Work under the direct supervision of the Unit Supervisor or the Supervising Registered Nurse II.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the BVNPTE.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with inmates, staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a correctional facility, which can be a challenging and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be required to work in a team-based setting, with a focus on providing high-quality care to inmates. The position may also require travel to other facilities or locations, as needed.
