Position Summary: The Lead Production Engineer will play a pivotal role in the establishment and operation of a state-of-the-art Battery Active Material (BAM) Factory. This position is integral to the engineering team responsible for the design and development of the largest facility dedicated to next-generation lithium-silicon anode materials. The selected individual will oversee a specific operational area post-commissioning and will mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become the authority on one of four primary process areas.
  • Assist in the design, construction, and commissioning of production equipment.
  • Collaborate with R&D to devise solutions that enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality and safety.
  • Analyze data to plan experiments aimed at process optimization.
  • Contribute to the development of manufacturing best practices and assist in managing manufacturing databases.
  • Work closely with R&D to ensure new products and processes are manufacturable.
  • Partner with maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Address technical challenges to maintain production continuity.
  • Develop elements for the process safety management (PSM) program.
  • Create procedures to ensure safe and effective equipment operation from day one.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical, industrial, or design roles.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in both large corporations and start-up environments.
  • Familiarity with materials production and chemical processing.
  • Knowledge of thermal processing equipment or bulk powder handling.
  • Experience with carbon processes or silicon gases.
  • Background in process safety management or risk management.
  • Six-sigma certification or relevant training.
