Position Summary

We are currently in search of a motivated, solutions-oriented Civil Engineer with expertise in municipal project design. The successful candidate will exhibit strong professional engineering capabilities and will be responsible for performing engineering designs within a specified discipline to ensure continuity of purpose, adhering to scope, budget, and timelines from initial concept through to final design. This role will also involve mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of design efforts.
  • Provide guidance to assigned project personnel, which may include other engineers, drafters, designers, field staff, and administrative support, aiding in the establishment and achievement of project goals.
  • Deliver advanced technical expertise to projects, determining design strategies, establishing courses of action, and reviewing outcomes for accuracy and thoroughness in meeting client requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and permitting standards.
  • Prepare a variety of documents including project reports, proposals, estimates, bid documents, and permit applications.
  • Offer project understanding and approach for proposals.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets, communicating any potential budgetary, scope, or scheduling challenges to the Project Manager.
  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and secure repeat business from core, developing, and private clients while enhancing business development and sales skills.
  • May act as a client relationship manager for a select number of clients.
  • May be designated as an Assistant Project Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • 5-10 years of civil engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design tools (AutoCAD, GIS, REVIT).
  • Comprehensive understanding of permitting and funding agency requirements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire for professional advancement.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a registered insured vehicle.
