Position Overview

The Field Service Technician will lead and support a team to achieve set goals. In this capacity, you will operate within established guidelines to make informed decisions, apply knowledge to moderately complex challenges, and address issues through immediate actions or short-term strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site propeller servicing, including repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities encompass both on-wing and off-wing tasks.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to the on-site team regarding the operation, maintenance, repair, logistical support, and installation of GE products.
  • Deliver timely and comprehensive updates to project and field service management regarding program statuses, failures, trends, and operational conditions.
  • Provide hands-on assistance through on-site training and guidance in the correct operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned programs and ground support equipment, including the interpretation of technical data and instructions.
  • Communicate effectively with Product Support and Field Service teams about all program activities and challenges through regular, timely reporting. This includes gathering, analyzing, and sharing significant market insights and sales opportunities related to assigned programs and support.
  • Collaborate with the Field Service team to schedule maintenance and manage workload, ensuring that equipment and parts adhere to established timelines.
  • Analyze reported issues and identify any concerning trends. Provide recommendations based on findings and assess the effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify training needs.
  • Anticipate future requirements that may impact the program and assist in implementing necessary actions to address those needs.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of aviation experience in a field service or maintenance role).
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Extensive experience in conducting repairs and maintenance work is required.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
  • Proven ability in analytical thinking and quality improvement.
  • Ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
This position will commence at the Dowty Training Facility, followed by a GME assignment.
