Work Location: Waukesha Foundry, Inc.

Department: Melt & Pour

Supervisor: Will Cleveland

Compensation Type: Hourly

Hourly Wage: $25.19

Job Overview: This role involves a variety of essential tasks related to the melting and pouring of metals, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pouring Operations:
    - Ensure correct weight and clamp placement for molds
    - Inspect sprue and risers for accuracy and cleanliness
    - Follow master instructions for pouring requirements
    - Execute proper pouring techniques including maintaining an even stream and correct height of risers
    - Remove clamps and weights post-cooling
  • Ladle Maintenance:
    - Safely light and place ladles on preheaters
    - Conduct repairs or replacements on ladle linings
  • Furnace Assistance:
    - Utilize heat logs to weigh and prepare raw materials
    - Deliver materials to the appropriate deck in a timely manner
    - Perform cycle counts as necessary
  • Melt Scheduling:
    - Organize molds for specific alloys and quantities
    - Record and maintain logs for heat identification and test bars
  • Melting Procedures:
    - Verify charge materials against logs
    - Follow established melting procedures for various alloys
    - Maintain accurate records of melting operations
  • General Duties:
    - Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards
    - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
    - Complete additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Skills: Proficiency in basic arithmetic and ability to comprehend shop documentation.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Work Environment: Typical foundry conditions.
