Healthcare Support Specialist

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients while supporting the healthcare provider in various medical tasks. Your responsibilities will encompass managing patient interactions and maintaining the operational efficiency of the clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and guide them to examination areas; assist with form completion as required.
- Familiarize yourself with clinic technology and adhere to established protocols.
- Handle multi-line phone systems and communicate effectively in multiple languages.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling and accommodate patient needs, including transportation arrangements.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility through direct communication with insurance providers.
- Perform administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and faxing.
- Address patient inquiries and ensure their needs are met at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of procedure rooms.
- Assist physicians during specific medical procedures, following their guidelines and preferences.
- Prepare patients for procedures and ensure a clean environment post-procedure.
- Provide patients with post-procedure instructions and medication procurement information.
- Monitor and replenish medical supplies as necessary.
- Support the training of new personnel as required.
- Assist ultrasound staff when needed.
- Transport necessary supplies or equipment as required.
- Be flexible with working hours and overtime as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant: CMA, RMA, or CCMA is advantageous.
- A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills are essential.
