Tax Compliance Specialist

Tatum by Randstad is partnering with a leading client in the Denver Tech Center to fill a Tax Manager position in their Accounting and Finance Department.
Key Responsibilities:- Tax Compliance: Prepare and complete tax returns and reports involved with federal and state income taxes. Assist in the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and quarterly estimated and extension payment computations.
- Tax Provision: Support the company's corporate income tax provision process for compliance with US GAAP/SEC reporting as required by ASC 740.
- Tax Audits: Assist with federal and state income tax audits, as necessary, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries.
- Tax Research & Strategy: Research developments in tax law to determine appropriate tax methods and identify tax savings opportunities for the company. Write tax position papers and technical memos to support the company's tax positions.
- Special Projects: Support various special projects and assist with ad hoc tax assignments as needed, including research & development studies, oversight of the fixed assets tax ledger, tax notice correspondence, and more.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance and accounting, to ensure alignment on tax-related matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in income tax compliance and income tax accounting reporting under ASC 740.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- CPA certification (ideal).
- Master of Business in Taxation or a related advanced degree (ideal).
- Familiarity with tax software such as OneSource Tax Provision, Longview Tax Provision Software, CorpTax, and Sage Fixed Assets.
- Ability to exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices.
- Demonstrate proactive behavior/involvement to make recommendations and facilitate decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in writing tax position papers and technical memos.
Base salary range will be in the $100-$130K range (DOE). The client would relocate the right candidate to Denver, but would prefer a local person. This role is also 5 days a week in the office, located in the Denver Tech Center.
