Construction Manager Job Description

At Stantec, we're driving the future of Community Development. Our Construction Managers play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to meet cost, schedule, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Coordination: Oversee the construction phase of development projects, ensuring timely completion, budget adherence, and quality control.
  • Site Management: Inspect and document contractor's work, monitor project safety standards, and coordinate testing and construction staking.
  • Communication: Facilitate regular construction meetings with contractors, owners, and stakeholders, and prepare monthly or semi-monthly payment requests.
  • Quality Control: Review shop drawings and submittals, conduct field evaluations, and perform final inspections to ensure project quality and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the design team, contractors, and owners to ensure seamless project execution and resolve any issues that may arise.
Requirements:
  • Education: Four-year degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Experience: 0-5 years of construction inspection experience or experience as a Construction Manager.
  • Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work cooperatively in a team setting, and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
  • Certifications: Ability to obtain MNDOT, NDDOT, and/or WISDOT Certifications.
