Job Summary

Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Clinical Care to join its Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) team. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the clinical team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health services to RISD students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to the clinical team, ensuring the delivery of culturally informed and evidence-based mental health services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of CAPS.
  • Collaborate with the Director and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the mental health services offered by CAPS.
  • Provide consultation and training to faculty and staff on mental health-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to ensure access to mental health services for RISD students.
  • Manage and oversee the clinical team's workload, ensuring that all services are delivered in a timely and effective manner.
Requirements:
  • A Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) or a master's degree in counseling (or related field) with at least 7 years of experience post-licensure in mental health settings.
  • At least 4-7 years of clinical supervisory experience required.
  • Must be licensed or license-eligible as an LICSW, LMHC, or Psychologist in Rhode Island.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated competency providing clinical services for diverse or marginalized clients.
  • Demonstrated experience with considering and implementing social justice elements into training and practice.
  • Demonstrated competency in managing and responding to crisis and emergency clinical situations.
