Job Overview

Position Summary:

A prominent food packaging organization is in search of a proficient Industrial Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional mechanical skills, electrical knowledge, and practical experience in the upkeep of packaging machinery. This role involves diagnosing and rectifying issues with packaging line equipment, as well as facilitating the efficient setup of new production tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quickly identify and resolve issues with packaging line machinery to reduce operational downtime.
  • Conduct regular maintenance activities on equipment to maintain peak operational efficiency.
  • Efficiently set up new production jobs on the lines, ensuring precision and productivity.
  • Address electrical problems, including gear systems, low voltage circuits, and basic wiring tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance maintenance workflows and protocols.
  • Receive training from an experienced mechanic nearing retirement to ensure a seamless knowledge transfer.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within the food production or packaging sector.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities and technical skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and experience with gear systems, low voltage circuits, and wiring.
  • Self-driven and capable of working autonomously with limited oversight.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Practical experience with thermoforming, blow molding, or injection molding machinery is advantageous.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary as the position is not accessible via public transit.
