Position Title: Youth Treatment Counselor Supervisor

The Youth Treatment Counselor (YTC) Supervisor plays a pivotal role in leading a therapeutic residential program aimed at promoting resilience and healing among youth, utilizing best practices and a comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed care. This position involves overseeing and supporting direct care staff while ensuring accurate documentation and tracking.

As a leader in our Residential Program, you will foster meaningful and supportive relationships with each child during their stay. YTC Supervisors are integral in providing assistance with meals, transportation, daily hygiene, engaging activities, and maintaining the structure of the milieu. Additionally, you will implement crisis de-escalation techniques and behavioral support interventions. Your dedication to enhancing the experiences of clients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) is essential in helping them access their communities and build healthy relationships with peers, staff, and caregivers. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is crucial to address the individual needs of clients effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside other program supervisors to facilitate training on agency policies, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Trauma-Informed Care (TIC), and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy interventions as directed by the Residential BCBA.
  • Provide on-the-floor training, mentoring, and milieu management.
  • Conduct debriefings and offer constructive feedback to maintain safe and therapeutic environments aligned with treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure consistency between educational, milieu, and clinical teams.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed milieu to foster healthy home environments for children.
  • Ensure timely documentation, including critical incident reports, daily logs, and other required reports.
  • Respect and acknowledge the diverse racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds of all clients and staff.
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff members.
  • Apply principles of change, risk, and resource management to enhance positive behavior strategies and provide individualized care.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-the-floor coverage as needed to meet staffing ratios.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for direct care staff.
  • Offer training and resources for staff support, including evening assistance as required.
  • Uphold the TCC philosophy and clinical direction in supervisory decisions.
  • Encourage staff to maintain work-life balance and model healthy professional boundaries.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; physical stamina for standing, walking, sitting, and other movements throughout the workday; ability to communicate effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • This position is not remote.
  • Work occurs in both residential and office settings.
  • Minimal travel may be necessary for community outings with clients.
  • On-call shifts are required to support staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or four years of related experience.
  • At least one year of experience working with children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), including complex behavioral needs.
  • Experience with K-12 children facing emotional and intellectual disabilities preferred.
  • Familiarity with co-regulation strategies and intervention methods with youth.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
