National Docketing Association is seeking a dedicated full-time professional to join our Litigation Docketing team. This role is essential for managing and organizing litigation calendars effectively.


Position Overview:


The Litigation Docketing team comprises skilled legal professionals focused on the critical area of calendar management. Our team provides centralized docketing services utilizing advanced software for various legal practice groups.

We are looking for qualified candidates who can operate remotely while being within reasonable proximity to our operational offices.

Key Responsibilities:


- Review and assess emails received in designated public folders, which include internal communications, scanned documents, and electronic filings, to determine docketing requirements.

- Make informed decisions regarding the inclusion of docket items in case teams' calendars.

- Prioritize and organize all incoming items to establish a manageable queue for each public folder.

- Collaborate with case teams to gather essential information for case setup and management.

- Conduct limited research to verify deadlines and their applicability.

- Address inquiries from litigation teams about docketed events, deadlines, and relevant rules.

- Continuously improve processes to ensure the accurate entry of calendar and docket dates.

- Advocate for the organization's docketing policies and procedures in all communications with litigation teams.


Required Skills & Competencies:
- Extensive experience in calculating deadlines for various court systems.- In-depth knowledge of litigation processes, court regulations, and procedures.- Strong analytical skills to interpret complex orders and assess their impact on case deadlines.- Proficient in researching, analyzing, and summarizing legal issues in writing with a keen attention to detail.- Familiarity with court websites and document retrieval systems.- Ability to foster effective working relationships across all organizational levels and collaborate within a team environment.- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal oversight.- Ability to thrive under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a professional demeanor.- High attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and effective time management abilities.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.- A minimum of 7 years of litigation experience in California and federal courts.- Experience with rules-based calendar systems is required.- Previous roles as a litigation paralegal or legal secretary are preferred.- Proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.- Exceptional computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
