Youth Care Specialist Supervisor

The Youth Care Specialist Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and supervision to the Youth Care Specialists. This includes developing and managing the performance of direct reports, scheduling, and participating in the recruiting process.

The role also involves ensuring the safe and secure operations of the program, ensuring team members comply with contract requirements and local, state, and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities include supervising team members and youth in accordance with operational policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of all. The supervisor must notify leadership of any incidents that occur outside the parameters of the policies and procedures.

Additionally, the Youth Care Specialist Supervisor provides timely performance feedback to direct reports, completes performance evaluations, and suggests incentives and development opportunities.

The supervisor is also responsible for instructing youth in the general care and maintenance of facilities and equipment, supervising the safe handling of program property and equipment, and participating in positive reinforcement and interdisciplinary meetings.

Other responsibilities include attending crisis intervention and physical restraint training, preventing and intervening in youth altercations, and operating institute vehicles as required.
