Job Summary:
The Gear Grind Machinist will independently and safely set up and operate 4 axis Kapp and/or 6 axis Gleason CNC Gear Grinding equipment to produce complex finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, operation sheets, and CMM inspection reports to produce high-quality products.
- Setup, tooling adjustments, and program offsets as necessary to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments, including roll testers, gages, indicators, and micrometers.
- Perform daily TPM responsibilities to maintain machine efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in the work area, complying with all company and safety rules and regulations.
- Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings, and team activities to improve processes and enhance overall performance.
- Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with coworkers, team members, and supervisors.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of aerospace CNC machining experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Degree/certificate from a vocational school or college program is a plus, but extensive experience may substitute for education.
