Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse to join our team at Ascension Seton. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients with hematological and oncological conditions, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients with hematological and oncological conditions, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient condition.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, current condition, and treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care, including ordering and interpreting lab results, consulting with specialists, and participating in multidisciplinary rounds.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs, ensuring a smooth transition to home or other healthcare settings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience working in pediatric hematology/oncology or a related field, with a strong understanding of the principles of nursing care for patients with hematological and oncological conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider certification from the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) or the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS).
  • Experience working in a pediatric hematology/oncology unit or a related field, with a strong understanding of the principles of nursing care for patients with hematological and oncological conditions.
