We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Lab Technician to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. This is a 2nd shift position with hours from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and prepare samples for microbiological, chemical, or process analysis, adhering to standardized procedures.
- Perform laboratory analysis using established test methods to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Practice Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's) and ensure equipment checks and safety monitoring.
- Assist in maintaining the lab's quality control system and database.
- Support Quality and Company initiatives and actively participate in cross-functional teams.
- Perform bacterial identifications, sterilize microbiological waste and biohazards, and prepare media for testing.
- Conduct process/chemical analysis, work safely with chemicals, and prepare solutions for production.
- Attend and actively participate in safety meetings/trainings, always ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Assume personal responsibility for a safe and healthy workplace and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
- One year certificate from college or technical school in Food Science, Biological Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Safety, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or work experience.
- Ability to read, interpret and communicate effectively with various documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles essential for microbiology and chemistry testing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, bilingual in Spanish a plus.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
