The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Job Summary
This role involves carrying out technical aspects of cardiac procedures under general supervision, assessing all parameters and performance during procedures, and maintaining equipment and supply inventory. The successful candidate will also prepare patients for procedures, monitor patient status, and assist with basic and advanced life support as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Procedures: Conduct technical aspects of cardiac procedures, including recording hemodynamic/physiological waveforms and performing various hemodynamic/physiological calculations.
- Patient Preparation and Monitoring: Prepare patients for procedures, monitor patient status, and maintain accurate examination records.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment and supply inventory, ensuring that all necessary tools are available and functioning properly.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- An Associates degree in Science with a major in Cardiovascular Technology or completion of a two-year accredited Cardiovascular Technology Training Program.
- Registration with the National Board of Cardio Vascular Testing (RCIS) or (RCES) or ARRT registered with Cardiac/Interventional (CI) or (CV) Cardiac/Vascular Radiology Certification.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) for employees working in adult settings or Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (PALS) for employees working in pediatric settings.
- At least one year of direct Cardiac Cath/Peripheral Vascular/EP Lab experience.
Benefits and Compensation
