Ultrasound Tech II Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist radiologists in performing invasive diagnostic techniques, such as needle biopsies and guided needle-wire placement exams.
  • Evaluate patient suitability for procedures and provide standardization and training to residents.
  • Perform ultrasound procedures under general or direct supervision, recognizing sonographic characteristics of normal and abnormal tissues and structures.
  • Analyze sonography findings to provide comprehensive exams and sufficient data for radiologists.
  • Recognize situations requiring direct observation by radiologists and advise on results and diagnostic evaluation.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent certificate program.
  • RDMS registration with certification in at least one modality specific to the department of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Three years of experience as an Ultrasound Tech.
