Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent in Indiana. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider).
  • Perform select clinical duties, including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
  • Assist with basic clerical duties, including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
  • Perform basic materials management functions, including ordering and stocking of supplies.
  • Document the provider's encounter with patients, including listing all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions.
  • Transcribe patient orders, including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Medical Assistant obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
