Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our Float Pool team at McHenry Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care and support to patients in various acute care environments.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of a registered nurse, provide direct patient care and safety observation to promote the physical, personal, emotional, and hygienic needs of patients.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, personal hygiene, and toileting needs, and report to the registered nurse as necessary.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, turn and reposition bedridden patients, and transport patients as needed.
  • Provide continuous safety observation of patients identified to be at risk for causing injury to themselves or others.
  • Offer basic comfort measures to help patients relax and address their emotional needs.
  • Remotely monitor patients via continuous video monitoring and provide effective verbal redirection as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Healthcare Provider BLS (CPR) Certification
  • CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Certification or completion of one year of clinical practicum in a hospital setting
  • CPI Certification within 90 days of hire
  • Proficient computer and technology skills
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritize workflow
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform functional requirements
