Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Matrix Providers. As a Medical Assistant in our Family Practice Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient medical records and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Assist healthcare providers with exams, procedures, and patient care.
  • Transport patients to other clinical areas as needed.
  • Check charts for provider signatures, stamps, and patient diagnoses before returning them to Health Records.
  • Administer medication to patients under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
  • Obtain lab and x-ray results and communicate them to patients.
  • Answer phone calls and transcribe accurate messages.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order and report any issues to maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with patient flow and provide direct patient care as directed.
  • Operate medical equipment, such as blood pressure monitors, nebulizers, and EKG machines.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and start IVs.
  • Prepare patients for X-rays and instruct them on medication administration.
  • Notify patients of lab results and other test outcomes.
  • Participate in inventory procedures and coordinate with other departments to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant by a recognized organization, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants or the American Medical Technologists.
  • Minimum one year of full-time experience as a CMA in an outpatient family practice or primary care setting.
  • Ability to provide two letters of recommendation from practicing providers, supervisors, or program administrators.
