Position Overview
At Jax Spine & Pain Centers, we are seeking dedicated Procedure Tech Certified Medical Assistants to support our clinical operations. This role is essential in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a seamless healthcare experience through meticulous documentation and collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a medical assistant is preferred; certification as a CMA is advantageous. Recent graduates from accredited medical assistant programs are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in a procedure room setting is highly desirable.
  • Competence in measuring and recording vital signs, both manually and electronically.
  • Experience in pain management practices is a plus.
  • Basic computer skills are essential, along with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in reading, analyzing, interpreting, and documenting medical records.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to accurately record patient information.

Preparation for Patient Engagement:
  • Reviewing patient charts, schedules, and medical histories.
  • Generating necessary documentation for patient education, informed consent, and continuity of care.
  • Collecting medical records, lab results, and diagnostic information as required.
  • Ensuring a clean and therapeutic clinical environment with adequate medical supplies and functional equipment.
  • Coordinating with internal and external resources to obtain required supplies and information.
  • Collaborating with various departments to enhance the patient experience.
  • Communicating effectively with healthcare providers to facilitate patient care.

Direct Patient Care Duties:
  • Fostering a compassionate and respectful atmosphere during patient interactions.
  • Measuring and documenting vital signs accurately.
  • Collecting and recording relevant patient medical history.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of patient information documentation.
  • Preparing patients for procedures and provider interactions.
  • Maintaining effective communication with patients and healthcare teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
  • Administering intramuscular injections as needed.
  • Providing patient education through various communication methods as directed by healthcare providers.
  • Assisting healthcare professionals during assessments and procedures.
  • Documenting and reporting pertinent information regarding patient conditions and treatments.

Continuity of Care:
  • Accurately documenting orders and generating necessary forms for referrals and diagnostic services.
  • Processing prescriptions as directed, using various communication methods.
  • Coordinating with scheduling, billing, and other departments to ensure a seamless patient experience.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Maintaining current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and other relevant areas.
  • Adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Following Universal Precautions and ensuring compliance with healthcare policies and regulations.
  • Staying informed about applicable protocols and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Performing other related duties that contribute to quality improvement.
  • Serving as a mentor for new staff members.
  • Demonstrating effective communication skills with patients regarding medications and procedures.
  • Utilizing relevant computer applications effectively.
  • Completing other assigned tasks as necessary.
