Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a skilled Subsurface Utility Engineer to join our Utilities/Energy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in mitigating risks associated with new infrastructure design and construction.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a team of experts to tackle a wide range of projects, utilizing electromagnetic and geophysical technologies to designate existing utilities.
  • Read and interpret utility records, as-built and survey drawings, and highway design plans to ensure accurate project execution.
  • Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck, performing test holes to expose utilities and maintaining traffic flow.
  • Coordinate survey work with SUE teams and supervise field crew activities, training junior crew members as needed.
  • Represent Colliers Engineering & Design in the field, communicating and coordinating with utility companies to ensure seamless project execution.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in using electromagnetic and geophysical designating technologies.
  • Experience with vacuum excavation is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new technologies and learn new software.
  • Strong reading comprehension and communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, occasionally traveling out of town and working overtime as needed.
  • Good driving skills and a clean driving record are essential.
  • Prioritizing safety is crucial, with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
