About the Role

We are seeking a General Merchandise Expert to join our team. As a General Merchandise Expert, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming experience for our guests, observing and understanding their needs, and providing solutions to improve their shopping experience. You will also be responsible for owning select General Merchandise areas, ensuring sales floor is zoned, in stock, and accurately signed for guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a welcoming experience for guests by authentically greeting them and observing their needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for guests and improve their experience.
  • Own backroom aisles, including backstock, for your General Merchandise areas.
  • Process all inbound deliveries using the Receive application to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Complete all backroom daily and weekly audits.
  • Operate power equipment only if certified.
  • Maintain backroom and fixture room organization, location accuracy, and follow equipment guidelines.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices.

  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members.
  • Learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Work both independently and with a team.
  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
  • Attention to detail and follow a multi-step process.
  • Able to accurately handle cash register operations.
  • Able to climb up and down ladders.
  • Able to scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) and regular attendance necessary.
