The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Modeling and Simulation Project Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Performance Modeling and Analysis Department, you will be responsible for leading projects that leverage the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) to accomplish modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide AFSIM analysis expertise through interactions with Aerospace program office and government customers and by mentoring peers and junior staff members.
- Work with other AFSIM team members to lead our internal effort to integrate in-house tools with AFSIM.
- Use and contribute to development of in-house and commercial- and government-off-the-shelf engineering analysis tools with a focus on AFSIM.
- Independently translate customer needs into project objectives and instructions for analysts and developers, assemble and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams, coordinate complex technical tasks among team members, track team performance, and review team products for quality and accuracy.
- Develop and present timely and technically-accurate presentations and reports that clearly communicate analysis results and provide recommended solutions to technical leads, management, and customers.
- Bachelor's degree in applicable STEM areas or other relevant disciplines.
- 8 years of progressively more responsible engineering experience.
- Proficiency with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).
- Experience leading a team to accomplish an objective.
- Knowledge in two or more of the following: communications infrastructure, space surveillance, space protection, spacecraft ground systems, multi-phenomenology remote sensing techniques, or space-driven killchains.
- Proficiency in astrodynamics or space operations.
- Experience with one or more software languages that may include Python, C++, or MATLAB.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
- An advanced degree in applicable STEM areas or other relevant disciplines.
- Experience modeling the space domain in AFSIM and/or integrating external tools with AFSIM.
- Knowledge of Intelligence Community or U.S. Department of Defense business practices, acquisition policies, or space mission portfolios.
- Current SCI access with a polygraph.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
