Position Overview

The Transportation Research Lead will be instrumental in driving research efforts that explore transportation behaviors and travel demand strategies. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at producing and disseminating original research. Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing diverse datasets, including travel surveys and operational data, employing statistical software such as R or Stata.
  • Designing and executing surveys to assess factors influencing travel behavior and preferences.
  • Creating visual representations of travel data using ArcGIS and developing interactive dashboards with Tableau.
  • Documenting research outcomes and generating visual aids for reports and publications.
  • Monitoring performance metrics related to travel behavior and demand management.
  • Reviewing existing literature on travel behavior and demand management to inform research directions.
  • Assisting in the identification of new research opportunities and formulating plans to investigate travel behavior trends.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in urban planning, statistics, public policy, or a related field; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in research and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools.
  • Experience in survey design and implementation is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Interest in transportation, mobility, and urban planning.
