Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Service Technician to join our team at Sanco Thermo King. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration units and auxiliary power units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues with refrigeration units and auxiliary power units
  • Diagnose and repair all components, including electrical and mechanical systems
  • Interface effectively with service writers, leadership team, parts department, drivers, vendors, and customers
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date paperwork and submit completed work orders
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members
  • Meet and maintain labor efficiency goals and quality control standards
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and certifications
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Diesel engine experience and technical degree or certification a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and diagnostic computer systems
  • Ability to work independently in a field service environment and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Pass a DOT-approved physical and maintain a clean driving record
Working Conditions
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures
  • Frequent work on scaffolding and moderate exposure to confined spaces, moving objects, and mechanical parts
  • Moderate exposure to chemicals and fumes and moderate noise level
