Job Title: Experienced Diesel Mechanic

J.J. Nichting Co is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and dealer-owned agricultural equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including work assignments and product knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager/Shop Foreman to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Mentor junior technicians and apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Proven knowledge of agricultural equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, weekends, and extended hours, as needed.
Working Conditions:
  • Work in a fast-paced workshop environment, with exposure to all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Repetitive bending and kneeling may be required.
