Responsibilities- Monitor patients' vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall condition, using telemetry equipment to detect changes in cardiac status and respond promptly to emergencies.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments according to physician orders, ensuring proper dosage and monitoring for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients, collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care, promoting patient involvement in their own health management.
- Assist with wound care, catheterizations, and other medical procedures, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with facility policies.
- Respond to medical emergencies and changes in patient condition, providing critical care when necessary and coordinating with physicians for advanced interventions.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families, helping them cope with illness and treatment.
- Current RN state license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in medical-surgical and/or telemetry nursing.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms.
- Strong clinical skills, with the ability to perform patient assessments and manage care plans in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
