Agricultural Research Specialist

The Field and Research Service Unit (FRSU) at Oklahoma State University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Turf Research Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with our researchers and staff to provide support to turf research projects, including common turf management, specific research support activities, irrigation installation, maintenance, and operation, ground preparation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, grounds keeping, and overseeing equipment operation and safety training programs for students and temporary staff.

Responsibilities- Assist with the overall care and maintenance of research projects and facilities associated with the OSU Turf Research Center.
- Work closely with the Station Superintendent, other station staff, and researchers to provide support to turf research projects.
- Provide common turf management, specific research support activities, irrigation installation, maintenance, and operation, ground preparation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, grounds keeping, and overseeing equipment operation and safety training programs for students and temporary staff.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborate with researchers, staff, and students to advance turf research and its applications.
- Associate's degree in turf, horticulture, agriculture, or a related field.
- 4 years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree in turf, horticulture, agriculture, or a related field.
- Valid vehicle operator's license.
- Demonstration and Research Pesticide Applicator License (may acquire after hire before end of probationary period).
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with researchers, staff, and students.
- Progressively more responsibility in overseeing management of turf research projects.
- Master's degree in turf, horticulture, agriculture, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in turf plant/grounds maintenance and turf research management.
