Position: Material Support Technician

Location: Hill, AFB - Utah

Role Summary:

The Material Support Technician is responsible for executing depot supply material operations, collaborating with production support teams to ensure the availability and supportability of parts. This role involves conducting thorough research and analysis to address material needs, initiate procurement requests, and maintain optimal stock levels to facilitate production activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage unplanned material orders, ensuring efficient resolution and support operations.
  • Coordinate with production support teams to manage material requirements, minimizing excess inventory.
  • Facilitate the retrieval and delivery of materials to designated locations.
  • Conduct turn-in transactions for Integrated Prime Vendor (IPV) bench stock and Due In For Maintenance (DIFM) items.
  • Support various maintenance programs and perform Demand History Adjustments (DHA).
  • Utilize the Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health (EESOH) Management Information System (MIS) for hazardous material operations.
  • Generate management reports detailing hazardous materials, including re-order levels, shelf life, and inventory status.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental management guidelines for hazardous material storage.
  • Research catalog databases to identify cost-effective substitutes and new products.
  • Analyze stock levels based on usage patterns, project demands, and customer requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive material support to maintenance shops, including item research and order processing.
  • Manage stock replenishment for Shop Service Center (SSC) and associated inventories.
  • Conduct analysis of Bill of Materials (BOM) to support various weapon systems.
  • Investigate material cost trends and perform root cause analysis on discrepancies.
  • Resolve material and financial discrepancies in accordance with established standards.
