About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to join our team at Cisco, where you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware solutions for our next-generation routers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hardware components for our routers, including circuit boards and other electronic devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration and production.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including schematics and test plans.
  • Work closely with ASIC teams to bring up hardware and debug issues in the lab.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or relevant degree and 7+ years of experience in system level development.
  • Expertise in Ethernet, high-speed SerDes interfaces, high-speed design, and signal integrity.
  • Experience in X86 or ARM architecture.
  • Experience with control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or relevant degree and 4+ years of experience in system level development.
  • Hands-on board design experience, including with design tools such as Cadence Concept and Allegro.
  • Experience collaborating with other subject areas, including software, mechanical, and signal integrity.
