About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team at Cisco. As a key member of our Common Hardware Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware solutions for our next-generation routers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop hardware for our 8000 series routers, leveraging cutting-edge SerDes technology and ASICs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, software, and product marketing, to ensure successful product development.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including hardware specs and test plans.
  • Work closely with ASIC teams to bring up hardware and debug issues in the lab.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or relevant degree, with 7+ years of experience in system-level development.
  • Expertise in Ethernet, high-speed SerDes interfaces, high-speed design, and signal integrity.
  • Experience with X86 or ARM architecture and control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, and I2C.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or relevant degree, with 4+ years of experience in system-level development.
  • Hands-on board design experience, including with design tools such as Cadence Concept and Allegro.
  • Experience collaborating with other subject areas, including software, mechanical, and signal integrity.
