Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Development Engineer to join our team at Western Digital. As a key member of our Hardware Development Engineering group, you will be responsible for developing robust processes for the fabrication of HAMR NFT devices.

As a Senior Hardware Development Engineer, you will work closely with module engineers in various areas to deliver next-generation HAMR products. You will be responsible for interfacing with engineers and scientists in design, process, test, and characterization groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop robust processes for the fabrication of HAMR NFT devices
  • Work closely with module engineers in various areas to deliver next-generation HAMR products
  • Interface with engineers and scientists in design, process, test, and characterization groups
Requirements
  • BS, MS, or PhD degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related engineering field
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in JMP or equivalent data analysis software
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in semiconductor and/or magnetic head wafer processing
  • Experience with systems and tool sets in wafer fab
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: lithography, thin film deposition, ion milling, reactive ion etching, electroplating, CMP, SEM, FIB, TEM, AFM, or optical metrology
