Position Overview

Healthy Living Ventures is seeking a dedicated Operations Manager for our vibrant Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

This role encompasses overseeing the daily functions of the cafe, which includes scheduling, procurement, employee training, and overall management of the establishment. The Operations Manager will also coordinate catering services and ensure that promotional activities are executed effectively.

Compensation: Competitive salary with quarterly bonuses tied to customer satisfaction metrics, cost of goods sold (COGS), and overall revenue performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all aspects of the cafe, making informed decisions that enhance guest service.
  • Adhere to established company standards and service levels to boost sales while minimizing operational costs, including food, beverage, supplies, utilities, and labor.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality food preparation and service.
  • Maintain compliance with operational standards, company policies, and all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Implement and uphold sanitary practices for food handling and maintain cleanliness in both kitchen and dining areas.
  • Possess and maintain ServSafe certification.
  • Estimate food requirements and place orders with suppliers.
  • Monitor food and beverage costs, ensuring efficient portion control to reduce waste.
  • Uphold a professional image of the cafe, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to uniform standards.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service, addressing complaints promptly to convert dissatisfied customers into loyal patrons.
  • Establish security measures to safeguard employees, guests, and company assets.
  • Foster a safe working environment to minimize risks of injury and accidents.
  • Manage shifts, which include daily decision-making, scheduling, and maintaining quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to food quality and service.
  • Participate in the hiring process, including interviewing and onboarding new team members.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and promote the Healthy Living philosophy to new hires.
  • Support employee development through regular feedback, performance expectations, and evaluations.
  • Maintain an up-to-date staffing plan, preparing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer applications (MS Word, Excel).
  • Knowledgeable in various restaurant operations, including food planning, procurement, sanitation, security, and personnel management.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Agreement to background checks, drug testing, and credit evaluations is necessary.

Working Conditions

Hours may vary based on operational needs, with a typical workweek ranging from 40 to 45 hours.

Physical Requirements: The role requires prolonged standing, bending, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and repetitive motions.

Work with various kitchen equipment and office tools as needed.
